  • PSHE

PSHE is part of our Personal and Social Development (PSD) program, sitting alongside Life Skills and careers.

Within PSHE, students study a range of topics related to personal growth, social skills, health and financial literacy. We aim to help students develop the skills and knowledge they need to navigate their personal and social lives successfully.

PSHE is our unofficial core subject, and as such all teachers across all subject areas help to deliver aspects of the PSHE curriculum. These cross-curricular aspects of the PSHE curriculum include: helping our students know how to stay safe, how to stay healthy and manage their feelings, how to develop and manage friendships, and how to be a successful member of a community (understanding rules, rights and responsibilities).

In KS4 and KS5 students work towards an ASDAN accreditation in either Personal and Social Development or Employability, to further support them in becoming independent young adults living and working in the community.

In term 6 each year students study Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) within their PSHE lessons. Please see below for a summary of the content your child will be studying each year.
